This was right about when I realized what hiking was all about...and my inner Capricorn started to come out.   This was right around the Devil's Garden area, if I remember correctly. 

I am having such a hard time working in a Manhattan office with a memory of a view like this one.

As you can see, I'm still reviewing and posting photographs from my weekend in Arches National Park last October.  I haven't been able to get the experience out of my head.  There is something really special about standing in a park in your own country and not being able to see any signs of civilization (beyond the road).  The vastness of the place!  And the colors of the desert are stunning.  I have to go back.  I have to find a way to get back out to Southern Utah.

ducks in the Hudson River...happy SPRING!   I went for my first bike ride of 2010, from Brooklyn across the Manhattan Bridge and up the west side.   The sun on the Hudson River was glorious, and I wasn't the only one out enjoying the freedoms of spring.  I also got a good look at the construction (or lack thereof) around the World Trade Center, and those photos are going to show up in about a week here.   Stay tuned!

Junior's is known for their fabulous cheesecakes (http://www.juniorscheesecake.com/), of course, but I've never had one.  I occasionally stop inside this original location in downtown Brooklyn on my way home and order a vanilla egg cream, which is also from Brooklyn, and is, I believe, just vanilla syrup, milk and seltzer water.  It's pretty f&*#@$ing fantastic.
